ROOTS IN WOODLAWN
Muffy’s retail roots run through family stories, New Orleans, Memphis, and the South Side. His grandmother’s track-and-field legacy made movement feel like an inheritance, not an entrance fee.
EVERY PART OF THE JOURNEY
Muffy’s Lounge + Components is built around a life of relationships, movement, and showing up for Woodlawn.
02 / The why
A PLACE TO BELONG.
Michael “Muffy” Collins has always understood that a place earns its meaning through the people who fill it.
FOUNDER / NEIGHBOR / RUNNER02 / Name
THE COMPONENTS OF A LIFE
An elder once described the people, chapters, and service in Muffy’s life as its components. The name stuck because it makes room for every relationship that carries someone toward the next mile.
03 / Service
MOVEMENT AS SERVICE
Run From Prostate Cancer grew from that same belief: movement can make space for prostate-cancer awareness, conversation, and care among the people moving through it together.
“I want people to leave feeling like they just left their second home—and feeling good about themselves first.”— Michael “Muffy” Collins
